Land acknowledgement

Innovate Chestermere gathers, learns and builds on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7: the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani and Kainai), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations of Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney. Chestermere is also home to the Métis Nation within Alberta, District 4, of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government. People have cared for, traded on and built upon this land for thousands of years before us. As a community of people starting new things, we commit to learning its history, to listening before we build, and to making room for Indigenous founders and their ideas in everything we do.
